Oi, eu sou Olga, sou Grega e por isso estou ‘falando’ estranho! (já falei isso tantas vezes durante os 8 meses que estava morando no Brasil, que agora não posso me presentar em outra maneira! Mas não vou escrever mais em Português por que vou escrever algo errado e não quero. Por favor, use o tradutor – assim os erros serão do google e não meus rs. Obrigada por ler!)

Όταν ξεκίνησα το ‘αγαπητό μου ημερόλογιο’ αυτό, έμενα Αθήνα. Τον Ιούνιο του 2015 ήρθα στο Σάο Πάολο και πραγματοποιώ ένα όνειρο χρόνων (και τον εφιάλτη της μαμάς μου). Αφού έκανα την αρχή, μετά από την Βραζιλία ήρθα τώρα στη Νέα Ζηλανδία. Νομίζω δεν έχει πιο μακριά μετά, εκτός κι αν μείνω μόνιμα στα Φίτζι. Γενικά ταξιδεύω, μέχρι πρόσφατα μόνο για τουρισμό – αλλά όχι τόσο όσο κάποιοι φοβεροί back-packers που φεύγουν για μήνες μόνοι τους. Αγαπώ το περιβάλλον – αλλά δεν τολμώ να γίνω χίπης. Κάνω έξι χρόνια γιόγκα – αλλά όχι διαλογισμό – και δύο χρόνια ακροβατικά σε πανιά – αλλά ακόμη παλεύω να κάνω ασκήσεις χωρίς κλέψιμο. Διαβάζω πολύ, κυρίως fiction σε διάφορες εκδοχές – αλλά όχι για να φτιάχνω λίστες με προτάσεις και να κάνω αναλύσεις (αν και συμμετέχω στο quickowl.wordpress.com όπου βάζω αποσπάσματα από τα βιβλία που διαβάζω). Θα ήθελα να διαβάζω κι άλλα, τελικά βαριέμαι. Βαριέμαι επίσης τα ρομαντικά βαθυστόχαστα, μου αρέσουν όμως τα γλυκούλικα και τα always-look-on-the-bright-side-of-life. Βλέπω ταινίες, ακούω μουσική – αλλά για να τα απολαύσω και όχι γιατι είμαι γνώστης. Σε συζητήσεις θα υπερασπιστώ με πάθος (μανία, ξεροκεφαλιά κάποιοι θα πουν) αυτά που αγαπώ, από τον Χάρυ Πότερ, μέχρι τον Όργουελ. Για τους ‘ψαγμένους’ είμαι μάλλον αυτή η αβάσταχτη μετριότητα του είναι.

Γενικώς, μου αρέσουν αυτά που μου αρέσουν, χωρίς λόγο καμιά φορά, και μου αρέσει να τα μοιράζομαι – αλλά δεν θέλω να σε πείσω για κάτι. Δεν έχω πάντα δίκιο, δεν είμαι ειδική, αυτά που γράφω αφορούν τη δική μου – συχνά αφελή – ματιά στα πράγματα. Επίσης, αν δεν το έχεις ήδη προσέξει, μου αρέσουν τα κόμματα και οι παύλες.

So, I’m Greek (thank you miss obvious). I hate translating myself, although I wish I had the patience to do it, because, even though google translator has been a great friend of mine lately, it is terrible with Greek – especially in long texts with too much grammar involved. I prefer to write in the language I feel like – and often the language dictates the tone as well as the context. And this is why what follows is completely different than the above.

I have always admired the bloggers and wanted to be one, but I don’t want to be a writer so I kind of succeeded in discouraging myself. Eventually I started this blog out of personal necessity. I traveled for the first time in India, for the first time without a friend from Greece or my 8-year companion (who had by then stopped being my companion). So, I was alone, in Bombay, the craziest place I had ever seen (now São Paulo is perhaps topping this list) and I started writing just to put some thoughts in order. And tell my family I’m ok. And since then, I cannot stop. Greeks talk too much generally, you should know. But we are cool. Of course we are, hehe.

I am currently working and living in Aucklan, New Zealand – a long way from home. Blogging helps me minimize the distance and understand this amazing experience. Feel free to comment – blogging seems to be a lonely sport but I am grateful for any interaction! (I know ‘any’ could be dangerous, that’s how I generally am, walking in this thin line between confidence and ignorance. And I am aware: I use too many parentheses and dashes and long sentences – I do not proof-read my blogs too much and I kinda write the way I speak and feel, which usually means, not a lot of dots. There. :D)
